Charlie graduated from Bartlett High School and Clark University in Worcester. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Charlie grew up working in his father's business, Pappas and Son Market, which later became Park 'n Shop Supermarkets. He then branched out into Dudley, Auburn, Blackstone, and Southbridge. Charlie and Helen traveled extensively around the world and enjoyed their home away from home in Marco Island, for many years. In his younger days, Charlie enjoyed snow skiing and was extremely fond of staying at "Nene's" Colonial Inn at Nantasket Beach. The selfless man that he was, Charlie was a generous advocate for various charitable organizations, particularly the Special Olympics. What was most important to him was his family that he cherished and of whom he was deeply proud. Charlie was a dedicated member and great supporter of Sts.
