Kevin C. Kelly, age 61, of Norton, formerly of Carver passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, July 15, 2015.
Born in Boston, MA on March 8, 1954, he was a loving son of the late Charles and Florence (Sadoski) Kelly. He grew up in the Jamaica Plain section of Boston and was a graduate of Brighton High School.
A resident of Norton for the past 10 years, Mr. Kelly was employed for 18 years as an Electrical Mechanic for AMTRAK.
Kevin was an avid New England sports fan and was a proud New England Patriots season ticket holder. He played softball for the Carver Men’s Softball League on “the misfits” and had also coached his children’s sports teams and was a supporter of his grandson Zachary’s sporting events.
Kevin loved debating politics, of which he never lost an argument, was passionate of his beliefs, was a great friend to all, and was anticipating the birth of his third grandchild.
He was the husband of Laurie B. (Capelle) Kelly. He was the devoted father of Kaitlyn Scarpetti of Norton and Capt Matthew Kelly, USMC and his wife Lauren, stationed in California. He was the dear brother of Patricia Cahill and her husband Bill of Norton, Karen O’Connell and her husband Chris of Carver, Theresa LaVoie and her husband Ralph of Norton, Darlene Kelly of Franklin, and the late Anne Moore and her late husband David Moore. He is also survived by his adoring grandchildren Zachary Scarpetti and Savannah Kelly, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and extended family members.
His funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Monday, July 20th at 11:30 A.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton. Burial will be private.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, July 19th from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, Mr. Kelly’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to Polycystic Kidney Disease www.pkdcure.org or for people to become involved as organ donors.
