Obituary

Constantinos “Dino” Michalakeas, 78, of Worcester, passed away Thursday, July 9th in UMass Memorial Hospital. He leaves his wife of 58 years, Anastasia “Grace” (Flevaris) Michalakeas; a son, Evangelos “Angelo” Michalakeas and his wife Doris of Worcester; a sister, Mary Michalakeas of Agiaparaskevi, Greece; and nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters.
He was born in Athens, Greece, the son of Evangelos and Marika (Liri) Michalakeas and immigrated here in 1956. Dino was a hairdresser and an importer/exporter for many years. He was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral and was a past member of the AHEPA and the Quinsigamond Masonic Lodge. At one time, he played soccer, but his favorite pastime was reading.
The funeral is Wednesday, July 15th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a service at 10:00 A.M. in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 14th in the funeral home.
