Retired U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Shane A. Fuller, age 34, of Attleboro, formerly of Germany and Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of Nadine (Reinfelder) Fuller and the devoted father of Tyler Fuller.
Born in Framingham, MA on July 16, 1980, he was a loving son of Scott E. and Kathleen M. (McNeill) Fuller of Mansfield.
Shane grew up in Mansfield and was a graduate of Monsignor Coyle-Cassidy High School in Taunton where he played football.
He served in the Army National Guard. He attended Framingham State College where he coached the women’s volleyball and later became a fulltime member of the United States Army.
SSG Fuller served in Afghanistan as a Combat Engineer. He was highly decorated for bravery and honor to his country. His life was always placed in imminent danger and for such courageous acts of heroism; he was awarded numerous citations and medals which included being a recipient of the Bronze Star. SSG Fuller was honorably discharged from the United States Army on July 7, 2013.
Shane was involved with the Wounded Warrior Project and was a member of the Wounded Warrior Volleyball Team. His greatest passion in life was his family, playing volleyball, and he especially enjoyed four wheeling with his son Tyler.
In addition to his wife, son and parents, he is survived by his grandmother Laurette M. Fuller of Portsmouth, Rhode Island and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend services with military honors on Saturday, July 18th at 3:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be held prior to the services on Saturday beginning at 2:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, Shane’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 150 Cambridge Park Drive, Suite 202, Cambridge, MA 02140.
