Obituary

WORCESTER: Earl Corey, 97, a former resident of Homestead Hall, died Friday evening, June 26, 2015 at Life Care Center of Auburn. His wife of 58 years, Henrietta M. (Babin) Corey, died March 5, 2007.
He leaves three daughters, Theresa A. Evans and her husband Joseph of Milford, Rita P. Browne and her husband David of Southbridge, Joyce D. Picard of North Carolina; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Four brothers, James, Clarence, Fred and Everett Corey, a sister, Veta Williams, and a grandson, Kevin M. Browne, all predeceased him. He was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, son of the late Edward Albert Corey and Emma Mae (Horne) Corey, was raised in Worcester and was an Army Veteran of World War II. He and his wife lived on Simone Street for many years.
Earl was a painter with Botcher Painting for 20 years until he retired in 1988. He also worked for several other firms in the Worcester area for many years. He was a member of the Painters & Allied Trades Union and the 94th Infantry Division. He enjoyed gardening, working in the yard and around the house, and trips to Foxwoods.
After cremation, a MEMORIAL CALLING HOUR will be held from 10 to 11 A.M. on THURSDAY, JULY 9 at KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St., followed by a MEMORIAL SERVICE at 11 A.M. in the funeral home. Burial of Earl’s ashes will follow the service at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton, MA.
