Obituary

FT. MYERS, FLA./SPENCER; Paul A. Lapierre, 72, of 88 Gertrude St., and formerly of 10 Salem St. Spencer, died Friday June 26 at Joanne's House at Hope Hospice in Bonita Springs, FL.
He leaves his wife of 46 years, Mary Ellen (Murphy) Lapierre, two sons, Marc A. Lapierre and his wife Donna of Hubbardston, Matthew P. Lapierre and his wife Beth Ann of Windham, NH, a daughter, Michelle M. Partin and her husband David of Litchfield, NH, five grandchildren; Madison and Michaela Smith, Andre, Mary Jean and Ella Lapierre and many close family and friends.
He was pre-deceased by two brothers, Robert and Roland Lapierre and his twin sister Pauline Thibeault.
Born in Worcester, he was the son of Omer & Bertha (Juaire) Lapierre and lived in Spencer most of his life before moving to Ft. Myers in 2004.
Mr. Lapierre was a lineman for MA Electric Co., for 40 years, retiring in 2004. He served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam War.
He was a member of the American Legion-Ft. Myers Post 274, VFW Post 10097 in Ft. Myers Beach as well as the American Legion Gaudette-Kirk Post 138 in Spencer. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 964 and attended St. Columkill Church both in Ft. Myers.
He was a former member of the Spencer Fish & Game and the South Spencer Community Club.
The Funeral will be held Thursday, July 2 from the J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer, with a Mass at 10 AM in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer.
Calling hours are Wednesday from 5-7 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
