Sarah E.J. (Jones) Bromley, 94, of Worcester, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 25th in the Lutheran Healthcare Center. Her husband of 63 years, Frederick C. Bromley, died in 2013. She leaves a daughter, Lynn Bromley and her fiancé, James Ryan of Worcester; and a nephew, Ashley “Buddy” Hughes of CO. She was predeceased by her sister, Rose Hughes of Luck, WI.
She was born in Staffordshire, England, the daughter of James and Ellen (Morrall) Jones and lived here for many years. Mrs. Bromley was a longtime member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church and she enjoyed knitting and making crafts with plastic canvas. For several years, she raised and tagged monarch butterflies.
Her funeral is Tuesday, June 30th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a service at 10:00 A.M. in St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 695 Southbridge Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M Monday, June 29th in the funeral home.
