In Taunton, June 14, 2015 Arthur J. Murphy Jr., Age 81 passed away in Taunton Nursing Home following a period of failing health. Arthur is survived by his loving wife Anne Marie (Grundy) Murphy of Taunton. Arthur was born in Providence and was a graduate of Msgr Coyle High School class of 1952. He was the son of the late Arthur J. Sr. & Elizabeth A. (Fair) Murphy. Arthur served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed as a machinist in ship building. Arthur enjoyed working on cars, tinkering and fixing all things around the house and spending time with his family and grand dogs Princes, Nick and Maggie. In addition to his wife Arthur also leaves his children Arthur J. Murphy III of Taunton, Kevin P. Murphy of Taunton and the late John R. and Dennis P. Murphy. He also leaves his sister Marita Fair Murphy of Taunton and the late Sister Mary Elizabeth Murphy and Sister Rosemarie Murphy and Thomas F. Murphy. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. A funeral home service will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Tuesday, June 23rd at 11 am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Monday from 5-8 pm. Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery in Taunton.
