Salvatore F. Biancuzzo, age 78, of Norton, formerly of Easton, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by the embracing love of his family on Sunday, June 7, 2015.
He was the beloved husband of Beverly A. (Scott) Biancuzzo, to whom he was wed for 53 years.
Born in Boston, MA on November 30, 1936, he was a loving son of the late Salvatore and Lena (Bonnirigo)) Biancuzzo.
Sal grew up and was educated in the Roxbury section of Boston. Following graduation, he proudly served in the United States Marines during the Korean War, and was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal E-4.
Prior to retiring, Mr. Biancuzzo had worked for over 30 years as a machinist at the former Stoughton Tool & Die.
Sal had made his home in Norton for the past 11 years and was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton. He had previously lived in Easton for many years, and had also resided in Brockton.
When younger, he was an avid softball and racquetball player. He loved spending time with his adoring family, spending winter months in Fort Myers, Florida, maintaining his yard and will always be remembered by his family as the master “scat player”.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted children Stephen Biancuzzo and his wife Jaclyn of Newton, Lisa Rouillard and her husband Stephen of Norton, Debra Menz and her husband John of Stoughton, Maria Bissonette and her husband Peter of North Easton and Katherine Leombruno of North Easton. He was the dear brother of Frank Biancuzzo and his wife Lillian of Roslindale , and the late Samuel Biancuzzo, Ernesto Biancuzzo and Angelina Lucido. He is also survived by his cherished 10 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Thursday, June 11th at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton. Burial with military honors will follow at 12:30 P.M. at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, June 10th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton.
Due to the limit of flowers allowed at the National Cemetery, Sal’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 150 Cambridge Park Drive, Suite 202, Cambridge, MA 02140.
