Obituary

WORCESTER: Barbara M. (Annett) Carlson, 87, died on Friday, May 29, 2015 at Odd Fellows Home, after a long illness.
She leaves a son, Jeffrey A. Carlson of Worcester; a daughter, Linda L. Wagner and her husband Dennis of Worcester; her grandson, Scott M. Wagner and his wife Jamie of Sterling, VA; and her two great grandchildren, Cooper and Reagan.
Another son, Kenneth W. Carlson, died April 14, 2013. She was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of the late Richard and Dorothy E. (Barnes) Annett and lived here all her life. She graduated from Clark University in 1968 and received her Masters Degree from Boston College in 1971.
Barbara was a Medical Social Worker in the Discharge Planning Office at Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge where she worked for 15 years until retiring in 1987. She previously worked for Catholic Charities in Worcester for many years. She was a member of First Unitarian Church of Worcester where she once served as President of the Women’s Alliance. She had also been an usher and greeter at Sunday morning services. She was a member of the Providence & Worcester Railroad Club and enjoyed house plants and gardening around her home.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to all who cared for Barbara during her stay at the Odd Fellows Home.
There are no calling hours. After cremation, burial will be in Hope Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Kelly Funeral Home, 154 Lincoln St., is assisting the family.
