Obituary

WORCESTER-Denyse A. (Clark) Curran, 85, of Worcester, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015 after a brief illness, with her loving family by her side. Denyse went to be with the love of her life, her husband of 24 years, James P. Curran who predeceased her on January 27, 2009.

She leaves her step-daughter Katherine A. Neale and her husband John of Worcester and step-son James P. Curran, Jr. of Worcester; a brother Paul A. Clark and his wife Patricia of Hubbardston; a sister Elaine M. Seymour and her husband Neil of Pawtucket, RI; many nephews and nieces, especially her late sister Shirley’s children, to whom she was a second mother throughout their lives: Anne M. Clark and her husband Thomas of Auburn, Deborah J. Campbell and her husband Ralph of Oxford, Michael J. Lynch of Auburn, John F. Lynch, Jr. and his wife Terese of Auburn, James P. Lynch and his wife Arlette of Worcester, Robert S. Lynch of Auburn and Kathleen E. St. Denis and her husband Norm of Sturbridge. She also leaves seven step-grandchildren and 18 step-great grandchildren including Isabella, Maria and Ana who always brightened Great-Gram's day when they visited; three brothers-in-law, John W. Curran and his wife Betty, William E. Curran and his wife Fumi, and Jack Lynch; and four sisters-in-law, Mary Houlihan, June Clark, Terry Clark, and Irene Clark. Denyse was predeceased by her first husband James V. Creamer in 1983, step-son Patrick J. Curran in 2004, two sisters, Gloria E. Clark in November, 2014 and Shirley A. Lynch in 2002; and four brothers, Ralph H., Raymond E., Clarence E. and Ronald F. Clark.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of Ralph L. and Blanche B. (Malboeuf) Clark and attended Holy Name of Jesus School. Denyse was a stitcher and assistant floor lady at B.S.&G. Manufacturing for many years, retiring in 1985. She was a longtime member of Sacred Heart-St. Catherine of Sweden Church. Spending time with her family was very important to Denyse. She enjoyed baking and decorating cakes for all family gatherings, something which her family will miss.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, May 21 from CALLAHAN FAY CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street, with a Mass at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart-St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 600 Cambridge Street. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery. Visiting hours are Wednesday, May 20 from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sacred Heart-St. Catherine of Sweden Church St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, 596 Cambridge Street, Worcester, MA 01610.
