Obituary


WEST BOYLSTON-Vernest F. (Crowley) Flink, 88, passed away Tuesday, May 5 after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family.


Her husband of 57 years, Robert A. Flink died in 2008. She leaves a son, Robert A. Flink, Jr. and his wife, Jane of Rutland; a daughter, Karen A. Winston of West Boylston; five grandchildren, Robert A. Flink, III, Allison J. Carey, Daniel J. Flink, Ashlee M. Voyiatzis and Audra B. Winston; three sisters, Ellen M. Buckley of Leominster, Elizabeth T. Fisher of Leominster, Barbara A. Bailey of Clinton and a brother, Ernest D. Crowley of Leominster; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was born in Fitchburg, daughter of Ernest D. and Vernest M. (Moquin) Crowley and grew up in Leominster. Vern resided in West Boylston for over 60 years.


She loved her family and lived for spending time with them. She was a wonderful and caring wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She enjoyed working in her gardens, cooking, baking, sewing and took great pride in her home.


Vern had the ‘gift of gab’ and enjoyed long conversations and sharing memories with family and friends. Vern was a longtime member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church and OLGC Women's Club. She will be sorely missed but not forgotten.


The Funeral will be held Saturday, May 9 from Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 1 West Boylston Street with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester Street. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery. Visiting Hours are Friday, May 8 from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 516 Carew street, Springfield, 01104.
