Betty L. (Rockwell) Muir, age 83, of Norton, passed away in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday, April 23, 2015. She was the beloved wife of Floyd E. Muir, to whom she was wed for nearly 60 years.
Born in Fayetteville, New York on December 6, 1931, she was a loving daughter of the late John and Mildred (Woolsey) Rockwell. She grew up and was educated in Fayetteville.
Mrs. Muir was a dedicated homemaker to her adoring family and when younger had worked as a machine operator for General Electric.
A resident of Norton for over 20 years, Betty’s favorite times spent were those at home with her family. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and when younger was an avid painter. She also had formerly volunteered her time at both the L.G. Nourse and Solmonese Schools in Norton.
In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by her devoted children: Cheryl A. Cekanavich and her husband Alan of Norton and Floyd C. Muir of Attleboro. She was the dear sister of Florence Taylor of Florida, Charles Rockwell and his wife Rose of New York, and the late William Rockwell and Ronald Rockwell. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Richard Cekanavich, Sarah Paff and Heather Muir, her great granddaughter Cassandra Paff, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Services and burial will be held privately at the convenience of her family.
