WORCESTER-Edna A. (Laporte) Simpson, 87, passed away on Monday, April 20th with her two boys by her side. She leaves two sons, Keith and Kevin Simpson both of Worcester; her sister, Doris M. Laporte of Worcester; two sister-in-laws, Rose Burton of Auburn and Ruth Laporte of N. Brookfield and many nieces and nephews. Edna was predeceased by her brothers, Almorse, Jr., Donald and Robert Laporte.
Edna was born in Worcester the daughter of Almorse J. and Mae (Fontaine) Laporte. Edna formerly worked at Sheppard Envelope, Robertson Thread and Eddington Thread Companies before retiring. Edna enjoyed volunteering at Tatnuck Elementary School, traveling, watching old movies and spending time with her family and friends.
A visitation period for Edna will be held on Friday, April 24th from 9:30 to 10:30 am at CALLAHAN~FAY~CASWELL Funeral Home followed by a Mass at 11:00 am at St. Peter’s Church, 931 Main St. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
