Domingo Almanza Hernandez, age 65, died, Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the Perry Hospital in Perry, Georgia.
The funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Annette Brooks of St. Peters United Methodist Church and Rev. Jerry Stephens of King of Kings Church in Rochelle, officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 6-8 PM, Monday, April 20, 2015 at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Hernandez was born June 26, 1949 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Domingo Hernandez and Rebecca Almanza. He was a forklift operator with Modern Dispersion South Incorporated; he also worked for over twenty years with Shaw Industries as well. Mr. Hernandez loved to hunt, fish and was a collector of knives; he attended St. Peters United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of twenty-five years, Hettie Sue Hernandez of Fitzgerald; his children and their spouses, David Hernandez and wife Melony of Rebecca, Velda Smith and husband Marty of Ellaville, Jaime Hernandez and wife Jo Anne of Douglas and Wanda Sue Reynolds of Fitzgerald; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; brothers, Armando Hernandez of Cochran, Rogelio Hernandez, Ruben Hernandez, Raul Hernandez all of Corpus Christi, TX; sisters, Blanca Gonzales of Corpus Christi, TX, Rosa Morales of Stevens Ranch, CA, Juanita Cortez and Beatriz Escamilla both Hebbronville, TX. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Beto Hernandez and Pedro Hernandez.
