Obituary

Thomas Elbert Fletcher, age 80 of Kathleen, GA, died Saturday, April 18, 2015 at The Heart of Georgia Hospice in Perry, Georgia.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla, with Elder Edward McIntyre and the Rev. Sonny Pate officiating. Interment will follow in the Irwinville Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Wednesday, April 22, 2015, from 12:30 PM until service time at the funeral home in Ocilla.

Mr. Fletcher was born February 24, 1935, in Ocilla, Georgia, to the late Thomas Y. and Thelma Viola Statum Fletcher. He served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Fletcher was a retired electronic engineer from Warner Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins. He was a member of Woodmen of the World and he enjoyed gardening and building electronics; he even built their first color TV. Mr. Fletcher was a member of Irwinville Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years: Sandra Burns Fletcher of Kathleen; a daughter: Donna F. Schaffner & Gary M. Granger of Bridgeton, New Jersey; a son: Thomas Allen Fletcher of Tifton; grandchildren: Nathanial Thomas Schafffner of New Brunswick, New Jersey, Zachary William Schaffner of Denver, Colorado and Thomas Allen Fletcher II of Tifton; a sister: Pauline F. Hammond of Kathleen and a niece: Thelma Caroline Brown of Florida. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by a sister: Joneal F. Brown.
