Christine Holloway Adams Merritt, age 82, died Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. She was born June 11, 1932 in Lambert, MS to the late Dalton and Lucy Washington Holloway. Christine was a homemaker and worked as a babysitter until her retirement. She was a member of O’Tuckolofa Baptist Church in Water Valley, MS and enjoyed cooking, quilting, and fishing. Christine was a devoted mother and grandmother; and enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, April 17, 2015 in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. William Milam, Bro. Tommy Mitchell and Bro. Michael Haas officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Liberty Cemetery in Calhoun County, MS. Christine is survived by her daughters, Lessie Mae Watts of Oxford, MS and Jo Ann Potts of Water Valley, MS; her son, David (Amie) Adams of Water Valley, MS; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jesse Lester Adams, Sr.; her second husband, Newman Merritt; and her son, Jesse Lester Adams, Jr. | ||||
