In Fall River, March 27, 2015 Richard E. Marvel son of the late Chapman and Melda (Frechette) Marvel died at Charlton Memorial Hospital at the age of 77. Richard was a graduate of Taunton High School and a veteran of the U.S Coast Guard serving in the Korean War, Japan and Vietnam. Richard was the owner of Marvel Trees and Nursery in Fairhaven and was a self employed finish carpenter also he was a former owner of an antique business in Berkley. He was a member of the Berkley American Legion and enjoyed cooking food on Fridays at the legion. He loved the ocean, gardening and animals. Richard was the former husband of Joanne (Kingsbury) Marvel of Taunton and Janis (Ramalho) Marvel of Taunton. He was the father of Michael Marvel of Seekonk, Mark Marvel and his wife Rhonda of Taunton, Bruce Marvel and his wife Susan of Berkley and Brain Marvel and his wife Robin of Taunton. Grandfather of Kelly, Kristie, Mark, Max, Jessica and Matthew. Brother of Marilyn, David, Norman Marvel and the late Robert Marvel, also his beloved dog Winchester. Calling hours will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton Tuesday, April 7th from 6-8 PM. A service will be on Tuesday night at 7:30 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in Richard’s memory may be made to the Taunton Animal Shelter, 821 West Water Street, Taunton, Ma, 02780.
