Edward J. Hudalla, Jr., age 36, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at the Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, RI.
Born in Boston, MA on July 22, 1978, he was a loving son of Edward J. Hudalla, Sr. of Marlborough and Maureen E. (Kelley) Wilfinger and her husband Eric of North Attleboro.
Eddie grew up in Walpole and was a 1997 graduate of Walpole High School. He attended Bristol Community College and was presently taking online courses through Kaplan University.
He was a self-employed painting contractor of which he was the proud owner of Patriot Painting for the past 10 years. He had also worked in the construction industry.
Eddie spent most of his life residing in Walpole, and along with his family was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church in Walpole.
He loved spending time with family and friends, especially making those in his presence smile and laugh with his contagious sense of humor, his gentle ways, and his big teddy bear personality.
Eddie was also an avid New England sports fan, his favorite teams to cheer on being the Red Sox and Patriots; where he worked part time at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro.
In addition to his loving parents, he is survived by his devoted brothers Christopher M. Hudalla and his fiancé Ashley O’Brien of North Attleboro and Gregory J. Wilfinger and his fiancé Kelley Duncan of Franklin. He was the dear fiancé of Jessica Desroches and her daughter Mikayla of Woonsocket, RI. He was the loving grandson of the late Gerald and Catherine Martin and Joseph and Margaret Kelley. Eddie is also survived by many special aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
His funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Monday, April 6th at 11:00 A.M. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 10 Diamond St., Walpole. Burial will follow at Mount Benedict Cemetery in West Roxbury.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, April 4th from 5:00- 8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
In lieu of flowers, Eddie’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 150 Cambridge Park Drive, Suite 202, Cambridge, MA 02140.
