Jeannette C. (Paille) Hudson, age 95, a lifelong resident of Norton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at the Epoch Senior Healthcare in Norton. She was the beloved wife of the late LeRoy F. Hudson who died on June 14, 1983.
Born in Norton, MA on May 28, 1919, she was a loving daughter of the late Wilfrid and Georgeline (Bombardier) Paille.
Jeannette was educated in Norton schools and was proud to have resided in the Barrowsville section of town her entire life. Prior to retiring, she had worked for over 40 years as a folder at the former Defiance Bleachery in Norton.
Mrs. Hudson was a lifelong communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton and was a member of the former Catholic Women’s Club.
Jeannette loved spending time with family and friends. Her hobbies included crocheting, playing cards and entertaining those around her with her exceptional cooking skills.
She will always be lovingly remembered for the special kindness she extended to animals.
She is survived by her devoted son LeRoy J. Hudson and his wife Rachel of Norton. She was the cherished grandmother of Donna J. White of Norton and Mark C. Hudson and his wife Amy of Norton. She is also survived by several generations of loving nieces and nephews including Janice Burkhart of Norton. She was predeceased by her dear siblings Germaine Chartier, Rolanda Bourget, Armand Paille and George Paille.
Her funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 24th at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Power Street, Norton. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Taunton.
Visiting hours have been omitted and in place of flowers, her family has requested that donations in Mrs. Hudson’s memory be made to Nine Lives of Norton, Feline Rescue Shelter Inc., P.O. Box 548, Norton, MA 02766.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St., Norton.
