Shirley Corine Rogers Obituary - Water Valley MS

Shirley Corine Rogers, age 69, died Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN. She was born April 17, 1945 in Yalobusha County, MS to the late Emmitt Gaston and Margarette Rogers. Shirley worked most of her life as a housekeeper and enjoyed fishing, working with her flowers, gardening and canning, cooking and trying out new recipes and taking care of her puppy, Peanut.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Springhill Church in Water Valley with Pastor Sammy Townes, Pastor Amos Sims and Pastor Mitchell Steen officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Water Valley, MS.

Shirley is survived by her daughters, Lisa Tanner (Revell) and Pamela Rogers all of Water Valley, MS; her sisters, Virgie Suggs, Brenda Campbell, Linda Campbell, Ruby Campbell, Patricia Campbell, Janeth Neely, Ann Matthews (Curtis), Linda Gale White and Edith Hervey all of Water Valley, MS, and Mattie Moore (Eli) of Lena, AR; her brothers, Harry Campbell (Margaret) of Tallahassee, FL, Johnny Campbell (Ruby) of Little Rock, AR, James Campbell (Lottie) and George Gaston all of Water Valley, MS; four grandchildren, Kayla White, Jazmine Rogers, Jeremy Rogers and Leaudra White all of Water Valley, MS; one great-grandchild, Zaylan Booker of Water Valley, MS and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Juanita Campbell; her brother, Bobby Campbell; and a great grandchild, Zaya White.
