WORCESTER-Barbara F. (Hill) Andersen, 96, passed away peacefully at Briarwood on Monday, March 2nd. Barbara was predeceased by her first husband, Helmer E. Anderson. Her second husband, Arthur “Andy” Andersen also predeceased her. She leaves two daughters, Nancy Forrest of Worcester and Jane Sullivan and her husband Robert of Sterling. She also leaves three grandchildren, Jennifer, Lisa and Rachel and six great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her grandson, John.
Barbara was born in Worcester on December 6, 1918 and grew up in Sterling. She graduated from North High School on Salisbury St. and from Worcester State Teachers College. Barbara taught third grade in Westborough for many years and resided in Westborough.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Assisted Living at Briarwood and the staff of Notre Dame Hospice for their care and compassion shown to Barbara.
A Memorial Service for Barbara will be held on Saturday, April 11th at 11:00 am at FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 West Boylston St., West Boylston. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
