Augusta, GA -- Mrs. Ann Pfeiffer Beggs, 84, loving wife of Johnnie Heyward Beggs, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 surrounded by her family.
Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 2:00 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Mark Van Alstine officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
Ann was born in Augusta, GA. She was a graduate of Mount St. Joseph. She worked at Lily Tulip where she met and later married, Heyward, the love of her life on April 7, 1956. She also worked at St. Joseph Hospital and the Medical College of Georgia. Ann was loved by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her greatest joy was her family. She loved babies and was blessed to have them around her most of her life.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents Godfrey Pfeiffer and Mary Pfeiffer. In addition to her husband of almost 59 years, she is survived by her children, Mike Beggs, Angie Gainey, Julie Davis (Charles), Larry Beggs (Melanie), and Danny Beggs (Patty); 18 granchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, and sister Helen Bebko (Dave).
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Steven Davis, Joshua Gainey, Dane Gainey, Chandler Beggs, Madison Beggs & Garrison Beggs.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, GRU Cancer Center, 919 15th Street, Augusta, GA or Gentiva Hospice.
The Holy Rosary will be recited at 5:00 pm at Platt’s Funeral Home, 721 Crawford Avenue and the family will receive friends until 8:00 PM following.
