Curtis Wayne Dennis, age 71, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 9, 2015 at his home in Water Valley, MS after a long battle with cancer. He was born August 6, 1943 in Yalobusha County, MS to the late Henry Dudley and Annie Patton Dennis. Curtis served in the United States Army and the Army National Guard. He was a self employed contractor, a member of the Yalobusha Chain Saw Crew and the Coffee Shop Club at Turnage Drugs. Curtis was an active and faithful member of O’Tuckolofa Baptist Church in Water Valley where he served as a choir member, the chief biscuit baker for Brotherhood and any maintenance work at the church. He enjoyed working around his home, driving his tractor and playing solitaire. Curtis was a devoted husband, father and grandfather; and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 13, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will be held in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks at 10:00 am, Saturday, March 14, 2015 with Bro. Dan Dickerson and Bro. Bennie Turnage officiating. Burial will be in the Anchor Cemetery in Lafayette County, MS.

Curtis is survived by his wife, Dorothy “Dot” Dennis of Water Valley, MS; his daughter, Melissa Ann Dennis Ball (Charles) of Quitman, MS; his son, Paul Wayne Dennis (Sylvia) of Crystal Springs, MS; two sisters, Erma Dennis Hollowell (Sam) and Joyce Ann Bishop (Robby) all of Water Valley, MS; three brothers, Charles Dudley Dennis (Paulette) of Water Valley, MS, Roger Lee Dennis (Lynn) of Oxford, MS and Bill Dennis (Hope) of Paris, MS; and three grandchildren, James Robert Dennis, Christopher Wayne Ball and William Allen Ball.
