Obituary

Normand L. Gaudette, 91, of New Bedford died March 4, 2015 at The Oaks Nursing Home after a long illness.
He was the husband of the late Mary R. (Gnudi) Gaudette.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Charles O. and Aurore (Gregoire) Gaudette, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Mr. Gaudette was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in New Bedford.
He was formerly employed by Gaudette's Market and later employed at Otis Air Force Base for 23 years until his retirement.
Mr. Gaudette served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Freetown Memorial Post 6643. He enjoyed bowling, watching the RedSox, Western movies and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his son, Paul Gaudette and his wife Pauline of New Bedford; 2 daughters, Janet Poitras and her husband Wayne of Acushnet and Doreen Laboa and her husband Gary of Rochester; a brother, Donald Gaudette of New Bedford; 3 sisters, Muriel Leblanc, Jeanne Labelle and Claire Michaud, all of New Bedford; 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Charles Gaudette, Jr.
His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 7th at 10 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. His family will receive guests on Saturday from 8 - 10 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Freetown Memorial Post 6643, P.O. Box 511 East Freetown, MA 02717.
