11:OO AM SATURDAY, MARCH 7, 2015 AT SEVEN OAKS FUNERAL HOME IN WATER VALLEY, MS.



Sheila Gregory Nelson, age 51, died Sunday, March 1, 2015 surrounded by her loving family at her home in Water Valley, MS, after a long battle with breast cancer. She was born September 21, 1963 in Bruce, MS to Carolyn Hodge and the late Jimmy “Butch” Gregory. Sheila was a member of New El Bethel Baptist Church, and a former Girl Scout Leader. She loved riding motorcycles and was an active member of the Lake Trash Charity Riders where she served as First Lady. She enjoyed working in her yard, working with her flowers, gardening and taking care of her dog, Willie, whom she affectionately called her “fourth child”. Sheila was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking large meals for all her family and friends. She loved everyone, and all who knew her, loved her. Sheila was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 4, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Chaplain Wayne Harlow and Pastor Bill Rutledge officiating. Burial will be in the Walker Cemetery in Yalobusha County, MS with Steven Langham, Howard Brower, Craig Stewart, Robert Winters, Steve Baker, Paul Ferguson and Danny "Dink" Perry serving as pallbearers.

Sheila is survived by her husband, Terry Nelson of Water Valley, MS; two daughters, Sarah Nelson and Kristie Nelson both of Water Valley, MS; her son Steven Brock Langham of Water Valley, MS; her mother, Carolyn Hodge (Kenneth) of Oxford, MS; her sister, Beverly Giles (Blake) of Oxford, MS; her brother, Jimmy “Roe” Gregory of Oxford, MS; her grandmother, Janet Kirby of Calhoun City, MS; and one grandson, Bryson Wayne Nelson of Water Valley, MS.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jimmy “Butch” Gregory; her grandparents, Jimmy and Jonnie Gregory and her grandfather, Leroy Kirby.
