Maria P. (Sousa) Nogueira, 99, of Acushnet died Wednesday February 25, 2015 at Our Lady's Haven after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Domingos T. Nogueira.
Born in Sao Miguel, Açores, the daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (Pereira) Sousa, she had lived in the New Bedford area since 1955.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Maria Rose Soares and her husband Liberio, and Lucille Medeiros, all of Acushnet; her daughter-in-law, Hilda Nogueira of New Bedford; a sister, Sofia Carreira of Toronto; ten grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Alfred T. Nogueira.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11 AM in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
