Jerry Herbert Obituary - Water Valley MS

Jerry Herbert, age 61, died Monday, February 23, 2015 at Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley, MS. He was born September 25, 1953 in Coffeeville, MS to the late Curathers Herbert and Gurtha Herbert. Jerry was a member of Empowering Life Ministries Church and formerly a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church of Coffeeville, MS. He enjoyed cooking, driving his Corvette, running with his “boys”, fishing and watching westerns. Jerry loved people and looked for every opportunity to help others. He dearly loved his family and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 27, 2015 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 p.m. at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 28, 2105 at the Mt. Moriah Building in Coffeeville, MS with Pastor Antonio Kimble officiating. Burial will be in the Coffeeville City Cemetery.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Kay Herbert of Coffeeville, MS; his daughters, Tawanda Herbert (Daryl Morgan) and Denise Baker all of Water Valley, MS; his son, Jerome Herbert (Nicole) of Memphis, TN; his mother, Gurtha Herbert of St. Louis, MO; his sisters, Addie (James) May, Shirley Herbert, Murdis Williams (Carl) and Michelle Toler (Dwight) all of St. Louis, MO; his brothers, Willie Booker and Stanford Herbert (Bernice) all of St. Louis, MO; and eight grandchildren. He also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other sisters, brothers and friends.
