Obituary

WORCESTER-John A. O’Connor, 45, passed away on Friday, February 13, with his family gathered around him, after a long illness.


He is survived by his beloved fiance, Babette Smith; two daughters, Kaitlynn O’Connor and Kymberlee Sizemore, both of Worcester; his parents, Francis W. and Pamela J. (Lindberg) O’Connor, of Rochdale; two brothers, Robert P. O’Connor and his wife Julie Lavoie of Auburn and William M. (Skip) O’Connor and his wife Kathy of Worcester; a sister, Barbara A. O’Connor of Worcester; and a sister-in-law, Samantha Rettig, wife of David O’Connor, a brother who predeceased him in 2013. John also leaves 12 nephews and nieces, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.


John was born in Worcester and was a family man who dearly loved his daughters. He was a hard working mason for more than twenty years with Heckman Masonry until the onset of his illness. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and camping with family and friends. He was a fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. His dog, Denver, was a devoted companion.


Visiting hours for John will be held on Tuesday, February 17 from 5-7 pm at CALLAHAN~FAY & CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester. Interment will be private.
