Obituary

WORCESTER-Mihran Shaldjian, 74, of Worcester, passed away Saturday February 7, 2015 at the Lutheran Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center after a long illness.

He leaves his sister Ani Kapur and her husband Amar of Worcester; his brother Arsham Shaldjian and his wife Debbie of Longwood, FL; nephew Jay Kapur and his wife Rebecca of Worcester; nieces Rita Kapur and Joanne Fleming of Natick; nephew Paul Kapur and his wife Patricia of Boston; niece Julie Kapur of West Hollywood, CA; cousin Sona Aris and her husband Hratch of Franklin Lakes, NJ; and three grand nephews.

Mihran was born in Istanbul, Turkey, son of Krikor and Astrid (Charkjian) Shaldjian, He retired from St. Gobain Abrasives in Worcester in 2003 after over 35 years of service. Mihran was a member of the Armenian Church of Our Saviour and its Men’s Club. He spoke four languages and loved nature, especially birds. He had many interesting hobbies including drawing caricatures, watching and collecting classic movies, and studying geography and history. He enjoyed his retirement by relaxing at the beach, story telling, and spending time with his family. He had a witty sense of humor and will be dearly missed.

The family wishes to thank the Lutheran Rehabilitation Center staff and JHC Hospice for their care during his illness.

There are no calling hours. Funeral Service will be on 11:00am on Monday, Feb. 16 at the Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury St. Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Armenian Church of Our Saviour. Arrangements are in the care of CALLAHAN~FAY~CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street.
