Roberta Morgan Obituary - Water Valley MS

Roberta McFarland Morgan, age 97, died Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Yalobusha General Nursing Home in Water Valley, MS. She was born December 3, 1917 in Yalobusha County, MS to the late Nathan and Ivory McFarland. Until her health failed, Roberta was an active member of Martin Street Church of Christ. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, sewing, gardening and fishing. Roberta was a devoted mother and grandmother, and loved spending time with family and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 13, 2015 from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Minister Dexter Ross officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Water Valley, MS with Tyrone Robinson, Dewayne Neal, Jermaine Gooch, Columbus Buford, David Buford and Sherman Gooch serving as pallbearers. Vernon Morgan, Clarence Morgan, Marvin Neal, Daryl Morgan, Ralph Morgan and Michael Thomas and Travis Morgan will serve as honorary pallbearers. The repast will be held at Martin Street Church of Christ in Water Valley.

Roberta is survived by her daughters, Barbara Ann Neal of Water Valley, MS and Frances (Osie) McCulloh of Bellwood, IL; her sons, Clarence Morgan, Vernon (Vanessa) Morgan and Ralph (Lottie) Morgan all of Water Valley, MS; twenty two grandchildren, forty two great grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Morgan, Sr.; her daughter, Mildred Thomas and two sons, Charles Morgan and Roy Morgan; two sisters Mattie Wright and Katherine Steen; three brothers, Abner McFarland, Namon McFarland and Ezekiel McFarland; one granddaughter, Vicki Morgan; one grandson, Marcus White; one great granddaughter Camilla Morgan; and one great grandson, Anthony Levert.
