Obituary

WORCESTER – Mary (Givan) Bath, 83, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Rose Monahan Hospice surrounded by her loving family.

Her husband of over 60 years, John C. Bath, died in 2012. Her first love was her family. She is survived by her daughter Pamela, wife of Dr. Jack Kelly, Janet, wife of Dr. Richard Jack, and Jay, husband of Judy Bath, one brother Curtis Givan, eight grandchildren, Curtis and his wife Anna, Nolan and his wife Kelly, Paige, and Taylor Kelly, John, Jacqueline, and Natalie Bath, and Dillon Jack, two great-grandchildren Liam and Jack Kelly, and three sister-in-laws Jan Bath, Patricia Givan, and Bea Givan. She was predeceased by her daughter Hillary Bath. She also leaves behind many beloved friends whom she loved spending time with. Mary was born in Worcester to Dr. James A. Givan and Thelma B. Givan and graduated from Bancroft School and Lasell College with a degree in retail. She loved working, for many years, at the Worcester Craft Center and Wexford House Irish Imports. She volunteered for over fifteen years at the Abby’s House Thrift Shop. She enjoyed antiquing, birding, and nature. Mary was a life member at Worcester Country Club and an active member of the First Baptist Church where she was a deaconess, taught Sunday School, and worked on the board of Christian Education. She enjoyed the last few years as an active member living at the Briarwood Retirement Community.

There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, February 4th, at 10:30am at First Baptist Church, 111 Park Avenue, in Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Abby’s House at 52 High Street in Worcester.
