WORCESTER-Westell C. Kirk, 81, of Worcester, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Holden Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
His wife of 53 years, Barbara L. (Platts) predeceased him on October 8, 2012. He is survived by three children, Robert W. Kirk of Worcester, Richard C. Kirk and his wife Pam of Worcester, Debra L. Falkengren and her husband Craig of Auburn; five grandchildren, Jaclyn, Tori, Laura, Kristen and Katie.
Westell was born in Worcester, son of Harold C. and Alfhild (Westerberg) Kirk, graduated from South High School in 1952 and Worcester Junior College in 1958. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of the Korean War. Westell was employed at IBM for 26 years, retiring in 1987 and was a member of the SAC Park.
A visiting hour for Westell will be held on Monday, January 26 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with a funeral to take place at 11:00 AM in LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler Street, Worcester. Interment will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
