Lola Mae Moore McDonald Obituary - Water Valley MS

Lola Mae Moore McDonald, age 91, died Friday, January 09, 2015 at Yalobusha General Nursing Home in Water Valley, MS. She was born March 27, 1923 in Iuka, MS to the late Richard and Lilly Prewitt Moore. Lola was a former member of the Rebekah Lodge #38 and the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW. She worked as an assistant floor lady for the Hershey Chocolate Company in Memphis, TN where she retired after more than 25 years of service. Lola was a member of Wells Station Baptist Church in Memphis, but after moving to Water Valley she attended First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing Bingo, working puzzles, cooking and tending her flowers. Lola was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and treasured time spent with her family and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 12 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 2:00 pm in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Rev. Alan McGraw officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley, MS with Jake McDonald, Jeff McDonald, Terry Lawson, Forrest McDonald, Corey Burns and Brandon Burns serving as pallbearers.
Lola was survived by her husband, Daniel A. McDonald of Water Valley, MS; four sons, Michael (Elaine) McDonald of Memphis, TN, Rick (Karen) McDonald of Olive Branch, MS, Gary (Kathy) McDonald of Bartlett, TN and Rodney (Bonnye) McDonald of Hernando, MS; three sisters, Marie Wells of Somerville, TN, Thelma Hankins of Collierville, TN and Martha Nicodemus of Golden, CO; her brother, Billy (Rose) Moore of Memphis, TN; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Moore and two sisters, Georgie Greene and Elizabeth Moore.
