Nina (Prohodsky) Collingwood, age 96, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 7, 2015 at the Epoch Senior Healthcare in Norton. She was the wife of the late Frederick P. Collingwood, Jr.
Born in Chelsea, MA on July 22, 1918, she was a loving daughter of the late Nicholas and Olga (Nekrashevich) Prohodsky. She grew up in Mansfield and was a 1936 graduate of Mansfield High School.
Prior to retiring in 1982, Mrs. Collingwood served the residents of Mansfield as the former Town Clerk and Accountant.
Nina was a member of the Congregational Church in Mansfield. Her other memberships included the Mansfield Senior Citizens and the Mansfield Music & Arts Society.
Nina’s favorite times spent were those amongst family and friends. She also enjoyed knitting, cooking and gardening.
She was the devoted mother of Frederick A. Collingwood and his wife Anne of California, William A. Collingwood of California, Phillip A. Collingwood and his wife Barbara of Kansas, and the late David A. Collingwood and Derith E. Collingwood. She was the dear sister of Anna Prohodsky and Helen Prohodsky both of Mansfield, Michael Prohodsky of Kansas and the late Frank Prohodsky and Mary Casey. She is also survived by her loving 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Services and burial were held privately at the North Purchase Cemetery in Attleboro.
