Jimmy Lee Cox, 56, of Ocilla, died, Monday, November 24, 2014, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton.
Private family services will be held at a later date. The family will be receiving friends Friday, November 28, 2014 from 5-7 at The Paulk Funeral Home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Cox was born March 25, 1958, in Ocilla to the late Sarah Alice Young and Carl Rastus Cox, Sr. He was employed with the Irwin County Sheriffs Department as a Jailer and Transporter. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and loved to ride his golf cart. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of over twenty-one years, Judy Johnson Cox of Ocilla; three sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony Cox and wife Ona, Kevin Cox, and James Cox and wife Brittany Ann all of Ocilla; Daughter and son-in-law: Judy Lynn C. Cochran and husband Will of Ocilla; five grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law: Bo Cox and wife Connie of Irwinville, Rayford Cox and wife Patti of Adel, Royce Cox and wife Dixie of Moultrie, Richard Cox of Fitzgerald; sisters: Joyce C. Suggs and Diane C. Puckett all of Fitzgerald; several nieces and nephews also survive. Mr. Cox parents preceded him in death.
