Cleo N. (Fulp) Richardson, age 93, of Sandwich, formerly of Mansfield, the loving wife of Kenneth Richardson, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 14, 2014, in Sandwich.
Cleo and Kenneth were married on August 19, 1949 in Norton, Mass. She and Ken celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in August.
Cleo was born on November 13, 1920, in McGregor Texas. She was the daughter of the late Jesse and Katherine (Russell) Fulp. She went to school near Ocee at Highland.
As a young girl, Cleo and her sisters and brothers would host rodeos at the farm they grew up on in Texas. She was an expert barrel racer. During World War II in McGregor, she was a star softball player for a travel team while Major League Baseball was on hold.
Cleo was a wonderful cook, and worked in the kitchen of the Robinson School in Mansfield. She was a volunteer at the Red Rooster church thrift shop in Sagamore for many years.
She loved sewing and fine needlework and was a superb gardener, but she was happiest spending time with all of her family.
Cleo is survived by her husband Ken, daughter Gail and Husband Tom Moon of Sandwich, daughter Ginny Lapham of Mansfield, daughter Kathy and husband Henry Maurer of Mansfield, and daughter Cinde Gomes and Jim Giovaniello of North Attleboro. She is also survived by her brother Billy Gene Fulp of Yarmouth. Cleo had eight grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Gary, her twin sister Leo, sister Jeanetta, and brothers Burton Fulp and his wife Virginia (Richardson) Fulp, and James Fulp.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, October 26th from 2:00 - 5:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield. Burial will be held privately at a later date at the Spring Brook Cemetery in Mansfield
