Obituary


Olive L. (Calder) Shea, of Manomet formerly of West Medford, died on September 26th at Beth Israel – Plymouth at the age of 87. She is survived by her husband of 65 years Jeremiah Shea Jr of Manomet and her daughters Ellen “Cookie” Gilchrist of Coventry, RI and her twin daughers Kathy Noone and Karen Price both of North Pembroke. She also leaves her grandchildren Brian Gilchrist, Seamus Noone and Katrina and Bridget Price. Olive was predeceased by her son Kevin and her brothers Donald and Arthur Calder.
Olive was born in Chelsea, daughter of the late George and Ruth (Knights) Calder. She graduated from Somerville High School and Lawrence Memorial Nursing School in Medford. Olive was a nurse at Lawrence Memorial Hospital for 40 years and a member of the Bonnie Seniors.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, September 30th at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Rd (Rt 3A), Plymouth (Manomet) from 4 to 7 PM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 1st at the 2nd Church of Plymouth in Manomet at 11 AM followed by burial at the National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations, in her memory, be made to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund, 34 Washington St, Suite 20, Wellesley Hills, MA 02481.
