Theresa M. (Kiehle) Whelan, of Plymouth formerly of Charlestown, died on September 25th at Life Care Center of Plymouth at the age of 87. She was the beloved wife of the late Emmett E. Whelan for 65 years. She is survived by her children Joseph Whelan and his wife Donna of Lewiston, ME; Thomas Whelan and his wife Christine of Sanford, ME; Cheryl Maddock and her husband Dennis of Plymouth and Kathleen Pirc and her husband Dale of Cave Creek, AZ. She also leaves her brother Francis “Jimmy” Kiehle of Kingston. She is preceded in death by her sister Florence Higgins. Theresa also leaves 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Theresa was born in Boston, daughter of the late Henry and Mary (McNeil) Kiehle and lived in Charlestown before moving to Plymouth 30 years ago. She enjoyed singing, traveling and spending time with her family.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, September 29th at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court St (Rt 3A), N. Plymouth from 4pm to 7pm. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 30th at St. Peter’s Church in Plymouth at 10 AM followed by burial at the National Cemetery in Bourne, In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations in her memory be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St, Watertown, MA 02472.
