Thomas E. Harper, 65

Thomas E. Harper, age 65, of Norton, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 19, 2014 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.
Born in Attleboro, MA on April 26, 1949, he was a dear son of the late Paul E. and Lucy F. (Perkoski) Harper. As a child he grew up in Africa and California. His family later moved to Norton where he finished his education and later honorably served his country as a member of the United States Marines during the Vietnam Era.
A resident of Norton for over 45 years, Tom had previously worked as a chemical cleaner at the Sinclair Manufacturing Company in the Chartley section of town.
Tom was very proud of his Cherokee Indian heritage and enjoyed participating in rituals which included tribal Pow-Wows and playing Indian drums. He also enjoyed volunteering his services at the La Salette Shrine in Attleboro.
Tom was a familiar face in town and could often be found at local coffee shops reminiscing with friends. His other favorite times included vacationing with family in Southern Maine.
He was the loving and devoted brother of Nancy L. Harper-Robinson and her husband Ronald W. Robinson of Taunton and the late Arthur Harper and Marilyn Butler. He is also survived by his two special nephews; Ralph and Templeton.
Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday, September 27th from 10:00 A.M till 12:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Avenue) Norton.
Services and burial will be held privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Tom’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to ones favorite charity.
