Lucille R. (Bernardo) Coyle, age 84, of Mansfield, formerly of Dedham passed away peacefully at home on Friday September 5, 2014. She was the beloved wife of Daniel J. Coyle to whom she was wed on October 12, 1947.
Born in Boston, MA on November 28, 1929, she was a loving daughter of the late Bernard and Etta (Delfarno) Bernardo. She grew up and was educated in the Roslindale neighborhood of Boston.
Prior to retiring, Mrs. Coyle had been employed for several years as an Office Manager at the former Bosworth Printing Co. in Stoughton.
A resident of Mansfield for the past 15 years, Lucille was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield. She had formerly made her home for many years in Dedham; where she was a longtime parishioner of St. Denis Church in Westwood.
Lucille’s family was the focal point of her life and she especially treasured the times spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. When younger, her interests included creating beautiful floral arrangements.
In addition to her beloved husband of over 66 years, she is survived by her loving and devoted daughters; Donna A. Cody and her husband Bill of Wareham and Maureen E. Tonelli and her husband John of Plainville. She was the cherished grandmother of Michelle McGee, Jason Holloway and Mark Holloway, and was the adoring great grandmother of Cody, Michael, Grace, Brooklyn and Lucas. She was the dear sister of the late Peter G. Bernard, and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral Mass to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 10th at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Hyde Park.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, September 9th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at The Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Lucille’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
