Kenneth P. Brown, Jr., age 70, of Norton, formerly of Foxboro and Walpole passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at the Morton Hospital in Taunton. He was the beloved husband of Teresa V. (Costa) Brown to whom he was wed on November 12, 2001.
Born in Norwood, MA on February 6, 1944, he was a son of the Kenneth P., Sr. and Virginia (Gellsman) Brown.
He grew up in Walpole and was a graduate of Walpole High School. Following graduation, Ken proudly served his country as member of the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. He was honorably discharged from the service on Sept. 22, 1967 with the rank of ABHAN.
Prior to retiring, Mr. Brown had worked for over 20 years as a laborer for the Local 721 Asphalting Union.
A resident of Norton for the past 20 years, Ken’s favorite times spent were those with his family and the simple pleasure of relaxing at his home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters; Angela Benning of Mississippi and Melissa J. Costa and her boyfriend Ryan L. Butler of Belchertown. He was the brother of Roberta and the late Joan and Robert. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, Septembe13th from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at his late residence, 11 Maplewood Avenue in Norton.
In lieu of flowers, Kenneth’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 150 Cambridge Park Drive, Suite 202, Cambridge, MA 02140 or the New England Center For Homeless Veterans, 17 Court St., Boston, MA 02108
