Burton C. Weiser, age 72, of Norton passed away on Monday, August 18, 2014 at the Life Care Center of West Bridgewater. He was the beloved husband of 42 year to Susan D. (Augenstern) Weiser.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island on December15, 1941, he was a loving son of the late Issac and Ida (Birenbaum) Weiser and the stepson of the late Selma (Katz) Weiser.
Burt grew up and was educated in Providence. He furthered his education to receive his B.S in Physcology from the University of Rhode Island and later attended Syracuse University.
Prior to retiring, Mr. Weiser had worked in Sales and Marketing at Eastern Wire in Providence. Following his retirement he enjoyed working part time at Target in Easton.
A resident of Norton for the past 42 years, he had belonged to Congregation Agudas Achim in Attleboro and was a member of the Touro Fraternal Organization in Providence.
Burt’s interest included playing the violin and piano, sculpting, painting, and classes taken at the Attleboro Art Museum.
He especially enjoyed, along with his wife, annual trips to Aruba, spending time in the presence of his children and great grandchildren, and always being ready at the “drop of a hat” to enjoy a day and night at the Casinos
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his devoted children; Michael Brooks and her husband John Donaghy of Seattle, Eric J. Brooks and his wife Cari of Sandwich and Laurie E. Caldwell and her husband Michael of Norton. He was the cherished grandfather of Adam Caldwell of Norton, Sydney Brooks of Sandwich, Evan Caldwell of Norton and Alayna Brooks of Sandwich. He is also survived by his dear niece Janelle Bonn of Rhode Island.
Services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Friday, Augus22nd at 1:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home. 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton. Burial will be private.
Visiting hour have been omitted and in lieu of flowers, Mr. Weiser’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham,. MA 01701.
