Warren L. Bacon, III, age 70, of Mansfield passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 9, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Sandra (Smith) Bacon with whom he recently celebrated 46 years of marriage.
Born in Medford, MA on June 14, 1944, he was a loving son of the late Warren L. Jr. and Natalie M. (Boudreau) Bacon.
Warren grew up in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School. He attended the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, and after honorably serving his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam Era, he continued his education and graduated from Suffolk University in Boston.
A resident of Mansfield for the past 36 years, Mr. Bacon had worked for the Household Finance Corporation for 25 years prior to retiring.
Warren’s family was the focal point of his life and he treasured the times spent at his family’s summer residence in Marion.
An avid golfer, Warren was a member of the Foxboro Country Club and a former member of the Norton Country Club. He was also a true New England Sports fan; the Patriots being his favorite team to cheer on.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his devoted children; Jennifer Poirier and her Martin of Walpole, Allison Marsh and her husband James of Foxboro, and Warren L. Bacon, IV and his wife Azita of Wakefield. He was the dear brother of Carol Simpson and her husband Jonathan of Wakefield and is also survived by his cherished grandchildren; Katie and Abby Poirier, Samantha, Cameron and William Warren Marsh, and Lilia and Mina Bacon.
His funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Thursday, August 14th at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 58 Carpenter St., Foxboro. Burial will follow at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, August 13th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
