Obituary

Carol H. Broome, 56, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, July 18, 2014, at her sister’s residence in Irwin County.

Funeral services will be held 4 PM, Sunday, July 20, 2014, at the Paulk Funeral Home in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Terry Cole officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening, from 6 to 8, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.

Ms. Broome was born July 25, 1957 in Ben Hill County, to Dorothy Pridgen Hogan of Fitzgerald and the late William David Hogan. She loved country music and loved to dance. She also loved animals, especially cats and horses, and was a member of ASPCA. Ms. Broome was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her mother: Dorothy Pridgen Hogan of Fitzgerald; three sisters: Barbra H. McDuffie of Irwinville, Martha Hogan and Cathy and Dewayne Soles, all of Fitzgerald; one brother: Danny and Cookie Hogan of Fitzgerald; nieces and nephews: Terri and John Hughes, Michael Champion, and Nathan Champion, all of Fitzgerald, Bryan and Leticia Champion of San Antonio, Texas and John Patrick McDuffie of Green Cove Springs, Florida; as well as five great nieces. She was preceded in death by her father: William David Hogan and a brother: Ronnie Hogan.
