Anne M. (Almeida) Doherty-Campbell, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Friday, June 13, 2014 at Marian Manor Nursing Home in South Boston following a lengthy illness. She was 75 years old.
Anne was born in Boston on February 22, 1939, a daughter of the late Frank Almeida and Agnes (Wynn) Almeida. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated and graduated from Cardinal Cushing High School in South Boston. Anne worked as an Administrative Assistant for many years for Prudential Life Insurance Company.
Anne is the beloved wife of the late William D. "Soupy" Campbell and William J. Doherty. She is the devoted mother of William Doherty and his wife Nancy of Charlestown and Marilyn Daly and her husband Kieran of Norwood. She is the loving Nana to Rory Doherty, Kaitlyn Doherty, Kelsey Doherty, Gillian Daly and Jarrod Daly. She is the beloved sister of Frank Almeida of Charlestown, Janet McDonough of Charlestown, Marilyn Almeida, Theresa Tumblin and the late Genevieve Lidgett and George Almeida.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Anne's visiting hours on Monday, June 16, 2014 from 3 to 7 P.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Her burial at the Veterans Administration National Cemetery in Bourne will be private.
