Jane Adams Biggers, 84, of Stockbridge (formerly of Fitzgerald), died Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Park Place Nursing Center in Monroe, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Minister Michael Lamb and the Rev. David Biggers officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Biggers was born January 6, 1930, in Turner County, Georgia, to the late Alva Jackson & Mary Jane Shivers Adams. She was a former seamstress for H.R. Kaminsky & Sons and served as a foster grandparent. She worked at Ben Hill Elementary School and Olan Mills Studios and formerly sold Avon products. She was a member of Fitzgerald Church of Christ and had attended Fairview Church of Christ in Stockbridge. She spent most of her life in Fitzgerald and moved to Stockbridge in 2010 to be closer to family.
She is survived by two sisters: Eugenia Gay of Ocilla and Gertrude Musslewhite of Stockbridge. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: William Jefferson Biggers; a sister: Eloise Roney; and three brothers: Johnny Adams, David Adams, and Harry Adams.
