Obituary

Frances Weaver Myrick, 92, of Dublin, Georgia, formerly of Ocilla, died Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Monday, April 21, 2014, at Fellowship Baptist Church in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Henry Tyson and the Rev. Dr. Rusty Brock officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends after the service.

Mrs. Myrick was born October 5, 1921, in Ocilla to the late William H. Sr. and Rosa Amanda Mixon Weaver. She lived in Ocilla most of her life and graduated from Ocilla High School. She attended business school and was a former librarian for the Carnegie Library and a former employee of Moody Air Force Base in public relations. Mrs. Myrick worked as an administrative assistant for Principal Paul Hughes at the First Ward School and Principal W. M. Patrick at Fitzgerald High School. While living in Ocilla, Mrs. Myrick was a member of the Ocilla Garden Club and loved helping to organize her class reunions. Being a former resident of Rising Sun, Maryland, she had lived in Dublin for the past three years. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Fitzgerald.

She is survived by three daughters: Patsy Jo & Henry Hughes of Dexter, Rhonda Kay Myrick of Ponte Vedra, Florida and Mary Lynne & Ray Madron of Rising Sun, Maryland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Joe Robert Myrick; and a brother: W. H. “Bill” Weaver, Jr.
