Obituary

Ginger Dickson, 69, of Atlanta, formerly of Fitzgerald, died Friday, April 11, 2014, at UniHealth Post Acute Care Center at Brookhaven.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Ms. Dickson was born July 20, 1944, in Fitzgerald, to the late Roy E. “Pug” and Mary Evelyn “Teeny” Perdue Dickson. She was a graduate of Fitzgerald High School and earned her Bachelors degree in English from the Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville. She was a former supervisory Equal Opportunity Specialist with the United States Department of Education Office of Civil Rights. She lived in Atlanta for the past 40 years and enjoyed crocheting, reading, and working crossword puzzles.

She is survived by nieces and a nephew: Melissa Ann “Missy” & Bruce Wilder of Hahira, Michael Andrew “Andy” Dickson of Fitzgerald and Rebecca Lynn “Becky” & Tarry Giddens of Fitzgerald; two great-nieces and a great-nephew; special friends: Brenda Niforth and Jeanne Walsh, both of Atlanta as well as her beloved dog: Peaches. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother: W. Wayne Dickson.
