Eric D. Alland, age 40, a lifelong resident of Mansfield, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2014 at Morton Hospital in Taunton following a motor vehicle accident in Middleboro.
Born in Norwood, MA on March 30, 1974, he was the loving son of Jane C. (Moen) Alland of Mansfield and the late Dennis H. Alland.
Eric grew up in Mansfield and was a 1993 graduate of Mansfield High School. He furthered his education by attending ITT Technical Institute in Framingham.
Most recently, Eric had been employed as a book distributor in Wareham. He had also previously worked at UPS.
Eric will always be remembered for the love and respect he showed towards animals. He enjoyed bird watching and truly believed in environmental conservation. Eric, along with his family, was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield.
In addition to his loving mother, he is survived by his devoted sister Emily J. Alland and her husband Jeffry Blanchard of Boston. He was the dear nephew of Paula Dutra of Maryland is also survived by his cousins, Matthew Dutra of Maryland and Christopher Dutra of North Carolina.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a service in celebration of his life on Saturday, April 12th at 11:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield. Burial will held privately at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visitation will be held prior to the services on Saturday morning beginning at 9:30 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, Eric’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the Mansfield Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 25, Mansfield, MA 02048
